Complete health - what does it mean?

Understanding complete health means considering the multi-dimensional thriving of a whole person in their whole life.

There is nothing more important in this world than your health. But what does this mean?

The World Health Organisation (WHO) defines health as 'a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity'.

At More Than Nutrition we understand how important it is to be free from disease but we also know how important your physical, existential, relational, emotional, environmental and mental wellbeing are.

We therefore take all of these factors in to consideration when working with you.

We look at you as a whole person in the context of your lifestyle and commitments. In order to make change sustainable, it is crucial to weave it throughout each area of your life so that it fits and compliments your way of life.

Consider two of these aspects for example – your physical and social wellbeing. They are two extremely important factors of YOUR health but how they translate in to your life will be very different to how they translate in to Jane next doors life. Jane may work part time, have older children and be able to go to the gym most days. She may have a very bust social calendar which involves eating out with friends several times a week. You on the other hand may be a busy, full time working mum with little time for the gym and your social calendar may revolve around your children. T

here is therefore no point in developing a plan for you that involves daily gym sessions and navigating cocktail menus! You need a way of life that suit your family and solutions that are quick, easy and simple.

Complete health is ultimately a result of habits practised consistently over a long period of time, it cannot be achieved through a quick fix. It is therefore crucial to find an approach that you can adhere to for life, not a few weeks or months. Something that takes your emotional status, your financial situation and your nutritional starting point in to account.

This PERSONALISED philosophy is at the heart of More Than Nutrition.
